Below is a list of the various wedding and functions which Jonathan is available to play for. For venues with no piano, Jonathan is able to provide a Yamaha P120 portable digital piano and amplifier. For further details on any of the services below and a no-obligation quotation please e-mail.
Traditional Wedding Services
As an organist, Jonathan is often asked to play for traditional church wedding services. He will normally play for around 1/2 hour before the service as guests arrive and then play your choice of music for the entry of the bride, signing of the register and wedding procession as well as the congregational hymns. If you wish to use a soloist for any items during the signing of the register, Jonathan will be happy to accompany them if necessary. Many couples already know their choice of music before booking the organist, but if you need advice, Jonathan would be happy to meet with you and he also has a sampler CD of most of the traditional music, which you may wish to borrow to help you decide.
Civil Wedding Ceremonies
Civil wedding ceremonies normally involve piano music rather than the traditional organ music for the ceremony. For a standard wedding ceremony, Jonathan will be available to play for around 1/2 hour before the ceremony while guests arrive and then play your choice of music for the entry of the bride, signing of the register and wedding procession. If you need any advice on choosing your music, Jonathan would be happy to meet with you in advance to discuss this. Although many couples still use traditional music for civil wedding ceremonies, it is also popular to use more modern music.
The Reception
Jonathan is often booked to play during wedding receptions, where live background music can really make a difference to the atmosphere of the occasion. Here, Jonathan is able to play light background classical or soft jazz piano music while the guests have their meal.
Functions
Live music can make a real difference to any occasion and Jonathan is often asked to play for all kinds of functions and parties. Recent engagements include Christmas parties, staff parties, annual dinners of various clubs, business functions, graduation parties and much more.
