Personalised Piano Practice Feedback
Stuck on a passage? Not sure how to improve? Let me help
Sometimes, no matter how much you practise, a particular passage just doesn't seem to improve.
Perhaps you're struggling with a technical difficulty, finding it hard to bring your hands together, or wondering how to make your playing sound more musical.
You might simply be asking yourself: "Am I practising this in the best way?"
My Personalised Piano Practice Feedback service offers a simple, affordable way to receive individual advice on your playing, wherever you are in the world./p>
For just £15, you can receive practical, tailored guidance to help you overcome a particular difficulty and make more progress at the piano.
GET PERSONALISED FEEDBACK – £15How Does It Work?
It's simple. Choose a piece or passage you're working on and tell me what you'd particularly like help with.
1. Send me your playing
Record a short video of yourself playing, up to five minutes long.
It might be a complete short piece, a particularly troublesome passage, or a section you're trying to improve.
You don't need professional recording equipment. A smartphone recording is absolutely fine, provided I can see and hear your playing clearly.
2. Tell me what you'd like help with
Alongside your recording, include a specific question or describe the problem you're encountering.
For example:
- How can I get this passage up to speed?
- Why does this section keep going wrong?
- How can I make my left hand more fluent?
- Am I using the best fingering?
- How can I improve the phrasing and musical expression?
- What's the best way to practise this difficult section?
The more clearly you can explain what you'd like help with, the more focused and useful my feedback can be.
3. Receive your personalised feedback
I'll review your recording and prepare a personal video response, usually around 10–15 minutes long.
I'll explain what I notice in your playing, suggest practical solutions and demonstrate practice techniques that you can try for yourself.
You'll receive your feedback within five days of submitting your recording and question.
4. Put the advice into practice
You can watch your feedback video as often as you like, pause it, and work through the suggestions at your own pace.
The aim is not simply to tell you what needs improving, but to help you understand how to improve it.
GET PERSONALISED FEEDBACK – £15Who Is This For?
Personalised Practice Feedback is suitable for pianists of different ages and abilities, but is particularly useful for adult learners who would appreciate some expert guidance on a specific problem.
You might be:
- Learning independently without a regular teacher
- Returning to the piano after a break
- Working towards a graded examination or performance
- Having lessons but wanting additional help between them
- Struggling with a passage that doesn't seem to improve
- Looking for fresh ideas to make your practice more productive
You don't need to be an advanced pianist, and your performance certainly doesn't need to be perfect!
This is about helping you make progress, not judging your playing.
What Can I Help With?
I can offer advice on a wide range of musical and technical challenges, including:
Technique and coordination
Fingering, hand coordination, difficult passages, leaps, fluency and building speed.
Effective practice
Identifying problems, choosing appropriate practice techniques and making better use of your practice time.
Musical expression
Phrasing, dynamics, articulation, pedalling and bringing more character to your playing.
Performance preparation
Developing confidence, improving consistency and preparing a piece for an examination or performance.
Each response is tailored to your recording and the particular question you've asked.
Why Learn With Me?
I'm Jonathan Delbridge, a concert pianist, piano teacher and music examiner with many years of experience helping pianists develop their playing.
One of the most important things I've learnt through teaching is that effective practice is about finding the right solution to the right problem.
Simply repeating a difficult passage isn't always the answer.
Through my teaching, The Practice Letter and my online courses, I aim to help pianists become more independent, confident and effective in their practice.
Personalised Practice Feedback allows me to bring that same approach directly to the music you're working on.
